In recent years, we have always tried to offer our customers as many payment methods as possible, including cash on delivery, to ensure maximum flexibility during purchase.
Unfortunately, starting today, cash on delivery will no longer be available.
This decision was not made lightly, but has become necessary due to the increasing number of orders refused upon delivery or not collected, without any prior cancellation request.
We understand that an online purchase can be the result of a change of mind. However, we do not offer express shipping: before delivery, it generally takes a few days, during which the customer has plenty of time to evaluate their purchase and, if they change their mind, contact our customer service to request the cancellation of the order. Refusing delivery without any communication, on the other hand, generates high and completely avoidable costs, which fall entirely on the seller.
When a cash-on-delivery order is shipped and subsequently refused, the seller incurs a series of costs that are not recovered. These include:
- the cost of outbound shipping and packaging (at least €6 in Italy);
- the commission for the cash-on-delivery service (at least €6, plus a percentage of the order amount), which is not refunded;
- storage and return shipping costs, which can amount to up to €12, depending on the courier.
In many cases, the total cost of a refused order easily exceeds €20, not to mention the time spent on administrative and logistical management.
We understand that unforeseen events can occur. However, when a customer no longer wishes to receive an order, it is sufficient to contact our customer service before delivery: in most cases, it is possible to intervene promptly and avoid unnecessary costs for both parties.
This choice allows us to continue offering competitive prices and quality service to the vast majority of customers who make purchases correctly and responsibly.
